More than £4.5 million to be invested in Buckingham
The funding, which totals £4,784,425 forms part of the planning agreement for the new development located on Tingewick Road and will be used to support services and improve facilities for both new and existing residents in and around the town.
Among the investment is more than £1.8 million for education, £1.5 million towards transport and £1 million will go towards sport and leisure.
Simon Francis, Managing Director at Barratt and David Wilson Homes North Thames said: “Investing into local communities is an extremely important part of building a new housing development. We pride ourselves on our commitment to the local community and strive to support it wherever we can.
“As our development progresses we will not only be contributing to the area financially, but the construction process will underpin over 760 jobs for the local area.”
Specific contributions include:
- Education – £1,836,740
- Transport – £1,054,000
- Bus service, shelter and promotion – £545,300
- Sports and Leisure – £1,086,725
- Open Space – £261,660
- St Rumbold’s – Rumbold’s Well – A new landscaped open space will be designed around the well, to protect and enhance its heritage
St Rumbold’s Fields is providing a collection of two, three and four bedroom homes that meet the needs of a range of homebuyers in the area.
The development is a well sought after due to its location. Residents are only 11 miles from the M40, and 17 miles from the M1, meaning working professionals will benefit from easy commutes. Alongside this, the market town of Buckingham is less than a mile from the development. This means that residents can walk to a number of essential and boutique shops, as well as family attractions such as The Old Gaul Museum.
Potential property seekers can currently take advantage of the Help to Buy scheme, which allows them to purchase a property with only a 5% deposit. Alongside this, the current Stamp Duty holiday means there has never been a better time to buy a house.
