New ‘Berkhamsted People’ book plans announced
In 2018, Adam Hollier photographed over 400 people in Tring. He produced Tring People: Portraits of a Town – a beautiful coffee table book – which includes some local landmarks and lovely stories from those featured in its pages. He is now delighted to announce that he is to repeat the exercise in the town of Berkhamsted. Officially announced at Berkofest Book Festival, where Adam is presenting a talk on the creation of Tring People, the first shoot will take place then (Sunday 12 May, 11.30am, Berkhamsted Town Hall). Attendees are encouraged to have their free picture taken on the day and secure their spot in the pages of Berkhamsted People: Portraits of a Town.
Over the next few months, further pop-up shoots will be arranged in local spots, with anyone connected to Berkhamsted invited to sit for a portrait, free of charge, and feature in the pages of the final book, which will be a record of faces and places in the town during 2019.
The Tring People book project attracted over 1,000 followers on Facebook and Instagram. Those wishing to keep updated on plans for ‘Berkhamsted People: Portraits of a Town’ can join the new Facebook group now.
Berkhamsted businesses and community groups are encouraged to contact Adam if they are willing to host one of his pop-up photo shoots. Sponsorship options are also available for organisations that would like to explore being further involved in this unique marketing opportunity.
Adam hopes the book will be stocked by Waterstone’s (Tring People: Portraits of a Town is available at Waterstone’s Berkhamsted) and a copy will also be held in The British Library, for posterity, alongside the Tring publication.
