New Station Commander switches on Christmas Tree Lights
Life at RAF Halton is very much a team effort. SERCO are a major part of that team and they kindly donate the Station’s Christmas tree each year and this year’s is the biggest ever. Despite a few hiccups involving a fork lift truck briefly getting stuck on the rain-soaked grass they managed to put the tree up on time – once again team work was the name of the game.
RAF Halton has a new Station Commander, Group Captain James Brayshaw, whose first official task was to turn on the lights on the Christmas tree.
As the most senior officer on the Station he was ably assisted by the unit’s most junior airman, Leading Aircraftman Scott Stone. Like the Station Commander, Leading Aircraftman Stone was in his first day at RAF Halton, having recently completed Phase 2 training as a Personnel Support Clerk at DCLPA Worthy Down.
Group Captain James Brayshaw assumed command of RAF Halton from Wing Commander Niki Stacey earlier that day; Wing Commander Stacey will stay at RAF Halton in her role as Officer Commanding Support Wing.
