New vice chairman’s first engagement
Newly-elected Buckinghamshire County Council Vice Chairman Patricia Birchley carries out her first engagement at Beaconsfield on Tuesday (June 14).
Patricia, presented with the chain of office at the council’s annual general meeting on May 26, will attend the summer garden party of Universal Care, which provides care at home for older and vulnerable people.
It’s a fitting engagement for Patricia, who was Cabinet Member for Healthand Wellbeing from 2010 to 2015.’As our population gets increasingly older, it is ever more imperative to help people to enjoy their independence and remain at home with the support and care they need to live active and sociable lives,’ she said.
Patricia who, as Vice Chairman, will support new Chairman Val Letheren, represents Chiltern Ridges Division andbecame a county councillor in 2005.
