News from Wendover Men’s Football Club – November 2013
The club has seen some new faces this season, in Wendover’s local Dan Johnson and Dan Jones bringing in an injection of youth to the side moving up from the U18s this season. Jamie Spurden helped the first team to an emphatic six nil victory with four goals on his debut. The defence and goalkeeper Scott Thompson could be equally proud at maintaining a clean sheet with a solid display. The club is continuing its efforts off the pitch with a number of socials ahead of Christmas, which should be beneficial for team bonding before the run of fixtures commencing in the new-year. There will hopefully be several players returning from injury in January that should give the second team manager Andy Hayers a few more options on a weekly basis.
The club is now sporting its new kit for the season, which was presented in the team photo outside chief sponsor Sweeney’s Budgens.
