Nine-year-old busker and BGT semi-finalist from Hertfordshire set to perform at Chilfest

Immi Davis

20th June 2022: Hertfordshire based, Immi Davis, who’s just nine years old, will now be performing at the second day of Chilfest, which takes place in Tring on 1st & 2nd July 2022. The announcement comes following her recent semi-final place on Britain’s Got Talent. Immi will take to the stage on Saturday 2nd July straight after ex Spandau Ballet front man Tony Hadley, who is opening the show.

Immi, who lives in Welwyn Garden City, has been given the opportunity to perform at Chilfest following a campaign from BBC Three Counties’ Justin Dealey, who wanted to give her the chance to play to a home crowd. Chilfest will see Immi play to her biggest crowd and perform at a festival for the first time.

Following Immi’s festival debut will be acts including ABC, Maxi Priest, Toploader, Peter Hook & The Light, The Real Thing, Bad Manners, Toyah and Heatwave. Plus, Saturday’s headline act, Scottish rock duo The Proclaimers, who make their first appearance at Chilfest.

Steve Butcher, Event Director, Chilfest said: “It’s important to us that we support not only established talent but also up and coming acts. For the Friday we launched a talent search to have an act open the festival and we have selected Tess and the Durbervilles to do so. Therefore, when Justin from BBC Three Counties got in touch to ask if Immi could perform the Saturday we were delighted to say yes.”

Immi Davis said: “Being given this opportunity means the world to me.  I am so happy that Chilfest is letting me sing on Saturday for these famous Pop Stars – but I am not nervous, just so excited.  Afterwards I will be watching all the other acts and taking my autograph book too.  Thank you very much Justin and BBC Three Counties radio for believing in me and making this happen”.

Immi, who has been compared to Amy Winehouse is currently Westminster’s youngest licensed ‘busker’ which allows her to play in Leicester Square, Covent Garden and Trafalgar Square. As Immi is under 14, she busks for free but performs to gain experience which she hopes will help her achieve her dream of signing a record deal with a major label.

BBC Three Counties presenter Justin Dealey said: “I’ve been impressed with Immi’s talent and am thrilled that she did so well on BGT. I’m even more thrilled that her first proper festival will be in her home county, which is also my home county. I can’t wait to see her perform.”

Chilfest takes place at Pendley Manor, Tring, Hertfordshire, on 1-2 July 2022. The festival has seen over 68,000 attendees and 71 artists over its nine years. In addition, the organisers have raised over £30,000 for charity, recently raising funds for the Disasters Emergency Committee with the first Chilfest Club Night.

The festival was established to provide a platform for music from across the decades to attract both those who enjoyed it the first time around and also for new fans to discover. Previous acts include The Human League, Little Mix, UB40, OMD, Sister Sledge, Billy Ocean and Rick Astley.

Adult tickets are £26.50 for Friday and £52.50 for Saturday. Family and children’s tickets are also available along with luxury loo passes. Tickets can be purchased from:
