One-stop shop for volunteering in Buckinghamshire
Have you considered volunteering but weren’t sure whether it was for you? Or perhaps you have wanted to volunteer but not found the right role or don’t know where to look.
As the Volunteer Centre for Buckinghamshire, local charity Community Impact Bucks can answer all your questions about volunteering including the types of volunteering on offer and finding a role.
There are many reasons why you may want to volunteer – from wanting to meet people, learning something new and boosting your CV, to feeling good that you are helping others. You may be passionate about a particular issue or keen to experience a new culture.
Whatever the reason, there will be a role that is fits with your interests and availability. Volunteering roles come in all shapes and sizes – whether you are looking for a one-off volunteering opportunity or long-term commitment, a role that involves being outside or working from home, or a specific cause or interest – there are a number of ways of taking the next step:
- Register with Buckinghamshire Volunteer Matching Service – run by Community Impact Bucks in partnership with Buckinghamshire Council, the Service matches Bucks residents into volunteer roles across the county, including recently those with Ukrainian and Russian language skills to act as interpreters. - Approach a local organisation directly – if you know of a local charity, voluntary or community group, why not get in touch with them and see if they have any volunteer roles which you would be interested in?
