Overnight closures necessary to complete surfacing on new A355 junctions

Final surfacing work to new junctions on the A355 in Beaconsfield will need overnight road closures from 30th September to 5th October says Buckinghamshire County Council.

The closures, from 7.30pm to 6.00am, will cover the section from Ledborough Lane junction (northerly extent) through to Waller Road (southerly extent). Diversion routes will be clearly signposted and advanced notices are currently in place on all major approaches. Traffic marshals will ensure access to local properties is maintained during the works.

The closures are required to complete the surfacing of the new junction with Maxwell Road, the junction with Waller Road and the new alignment section of Maxwell Road.

Work on the A355 project is progressing well with Phase five of the project nearing completion. A new kerb line has been laid as part of the re-alignment of Maxwell Road and work to decommission the former junction to the A355, construct the verge and install a vehicle restraint system barrier is being finalised.

Mark Shaw, Buckinghamshire County Council Deputy Leader and Transport Cabinet Member, said: “When it comes to road improvements on projects of this type, road closures are unfortunately necessary. I would like to thank people for their cooperation up to this point and for their continued patience whilst these closures are in place. Hopefully by carrying out these works overnight, any inconvenience caused will be reduced to a minimum.”
