Park free to spread Christmas cheer
Buckinghamshire Council is offering free parking in council-run car parks in the run up to Christmas. Nearly all Council car parks in Buckinghamshire will be free tomorrow (Saturday 10 December) and on Saturday 17 December, at this key time in the festive calendar. The Council hopes its free parking offer on these days during the Christmas period will make it easier to shop local – and will attract more people into our town centres to enjoy some festive cheer.
The free car parking is on offer on selected dates and times throughout December in council car parks only – please check the council’s website to see when and where this offer is available as the dates do vary between different sites. The free parking at many sites is designed to coincide with specific Christmas events in the town centre.
Steven Broadbent, Cabinet Member for Transport, said:
“By offering free parking in our car parks this Christmas season, we are trying to encourage people to support local businesses and to shop in our town centres.
“By checking the times and locations free parking is available, you can plan your visit and find unique gifts from local businesses, or even get cracking on your Christmas food shop. There are also some great events in all of our town centres and we hope that being able to park for free will save a bit of money – which all helps during the current pressure on household costs.”
