Period Property Owners converted to the Benefits of New Build by Bellway

A couple have changed the habit of a life-time by buying their first ever new-build home with national housebuilder Bellway.

Katy Todd and her husband Stewart, who had previously always bought period homes, were looking for the perfect place to enjoy their retirement, when they came across Bellway’s Estone Grange development in the Buckinghamshire village of Aston Clinton.

The pair, who have moved from Nottinghamshire to be closer to their children and grandchildren, say their new four-bedroom home at the development has ‘everything they could ever need’.

Katy said: “We had been looking to move for around two and a half years, but we couldn’t find anything we really liked. We had always gone for older properties in the past, so we had never considered buying a new build until we found Bellway.

“As we had never bought new, we were impressed by all the little touches we were able to add. I suffer with arthritis and being able to pick certain fittings to suit this meant a lot to us. It has allowed us to future-proof, which is what we always wanted.

She said: “We loved many things about the development, but the main selling point was the location. There are several facilities close by and a bus stop within walking distance, which means if we ever decide to give up our cars, we can get about perfectly fine.

“Bellway also has excellent partnerships with local tradesmen. We were even able to incorporate the Victorian tiles from our old home into the design of the kitchen, keeping something of our old style.”

Katy, who works as a freelance writer for a Japanese lifestyle magazine, said the development ‘ticked all the right boxes’.

She said: “We couldn’t fault the customer service we received. They were extremely helpful throughout, and I wouldn’t hesitate recommend Bellway – in fact I have already done so!”
