Play Park Project at RAF Halton

Work has begun on the RAF Halton Play Park Project that will see the play parks at Tedder Road and Haddington Close completely refurbished and a brand new Multi-Use Games Area installed at the Haddington Close site.

The project will cost a total of £437,000 and has been financially supported by RAF Halton, the Armed Forces Community Covenant and Aylesbury Vale District Council. When complete it will ensure that RAF Halton will have excellent, safe and inclusive play areas at the busiest SFA sites at the Station.

The diggers rolled in on Monday 20 October to begin the demolition of the current play park at Tedder Road and the Station Commander, Group Captain Adrian Burns, was on hand to inspect the plans for the coming weeks. Whilst on site the Station Commander said, “It is great that work has begun on the much needed refurbishment of our play parks. When complete, these new facilities will provide a state of the art play area to be enjoyed by children of all ages, both military and civilian, improving our already strong ties with the local community”.

Work is expected to finish in December with the facilities ready to use by Christmas (weather dependent). The Tedder Road Play Park is being tackled first, followed by work at Haddington Close. If you have any questions regarding the project please contact Flight Lieutenant Eamonn Leacy on 01296 656470.
