Police Property Act Fund 2014-15
The Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) for Thames Valley, Anthony Stansfeld, today (2/6) announced the launch of the Police Property Act Fund for 2014/15.
The Fund, which is jointly managed by the PCC and the Chief Constable, is created from money recovered by the police and the proceeds from the sale of items that cannot be returned to identified owners, which includes seizures from criminals.
This year the PCC and Chief Constable expect to allocate around £200,000 and applications are invited from local voluntary and community groups who contribute towards reducing crime and/or whose work supports the PCC’s Police and Crime Plan objectives.
The current intention is to have two separate bidding rounds each year.
The closing date for this round of applications is midnight on Sunday 22nd June 2014 and applications will be considered jointly by the Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) and the Chief Constable.
Police and Crime Commissioner, Anthony Stansfeld said: “The fund will make an important contribution to those community and voluntary groups that support the objectives in my Police and Crime Plan or help the police in reducing crime.
“There are many organisations in the Thames Valley whose work helps to make a positive impact on the quality of life in the area and this fund is a way of recognising their valuable contribution. Most allocations from the fund will vary from £500 to £5,000.”
Chief Constable, Sara Thornton said: “Many volunteer groups and charities contribute to the quality of life in the Thames Valley.As a police force we have supported many of these groups over the years and this year we are inviting applications from organisations so that we can ensure that the funds go to where they are needed. “
