Preparation work starts at Fowler Road junction
Preparation work starts in Fowler Road, Aylesbury, on Monday (9 December) ahead of improvements to the junction approach in the New Year.
It marks the start of a three-phase 15-week junction improvement scheme by Buckinghamshire County Council that will contribute to a better traffic flow and journey time reliability on the busy stretch of the A418 Oxford Road.
Phase one will see contractors set up a compound and build a new shared footway and cycleway on the southwest corner of Fowler Road . These works will not affect traffic, although daytime footway closures between 8am and 5pm will be needed to allow preliminary work to continue for two weeks.
Following this phase, Monday 6 January sees the start of phase two: widening works on the Fowler Road junction approach at off-peak times (9.30am-3.30pm). The final phase – resurfacing and lane markings – will be done at night, starting in March.
Project updates will be provided through e-bulletins and on the County Council website. To sign up for e-bulletins, email hitmailbox@buckscc.gov.uk
