Proud of Bucks winners to be revealed soon
Excitement is mounting across the county – it’s not long to wait for Buckinghamshire Council’s Proud of Bucks award winners to be announced. All those nominated in the scheme, which is sponsored by The Clare Foundation, will soon find out if they have been successful.
The Proud of Bucks Awards, now in their second year, offer a fantastic opportunity to recognise and applaud outstanding community contribution carried out by local individuals, groups and organisations. They celebrate Buckinghamshire’s communities that have made a positive impact in their local areas. And this year’s awards were no exception
Between 15 November and 31 December 2021, each of Buckinghamshire’s 16 Community Boards encouraged residents to help celebrate local people in three award categories:
- Best Adult Contribution
- Best Young Person Contribution
- Best Community Group Contribution
During this time, nearly 500 nominations were received, all shining a light on the amazing people who go above and beyond in their local community.
Cllr Steve Bowles, Cabinet Member for Communities and Chairman of Buckinghamshire Council’s Community Boards commented, “Buckinghamshire’s community spirit has always been something to be immensely proud of. The county is filled with communities with a passion to support one another, and residents who consistently go the extra mile for their local area.
“It’s amazing to see so many nominations come through for the Proud of Bucks Awards 2021 and to see lots of people being recognised and praised for their outstanding community contribution. The teams behind each Community Board are busy reading through all the nominations. If you were nominated for an award, keep your eyes peeled as the winning and highly commended entries, as well as details of each Community Board’s award presentation, will be revealed soon!”
The Clare Foundation is delighted to have sponsored the Proud of Bucks Awards for the second year running. Mike Clare, Founder and Chairman said: “Thank you to everyone who submitted a nomination for someone who they felt deserved recognition and praise for their contribution in their local area.
We’re looking forward to congratulating those who have gone above and beyond helping those in need in their local community and to hear more of the amazing stories of the young people, adults and community groups who have made a positive impact.”
