RAF launches Branded Sportswear to Regular and Reservist Phase One Trainees
From 1 April 2016, the RAF will issue unisex, branded sportswear to all Regular and Reservist Phase 1 Trainees attending Initial Officer Training, Specialist Entry and re-entryand Recruit Training School. The sportswear issue will comprise of two sets of branded sport shirts and shorts made of modern, breathable wicking material with distinctive RAF branding.
Air Vice Marshal AM Turner, AOC 22(Trg) Gp, said of the kit: “It’s fantastic to see this Royal Air Force branded PT kit rolling out today. It will make our recruits and cadets feel proud and belonging to the Service from day one and it will help us project the Royal Air Force everywhere”.
Recruits currently under training from Beckett Flight at RAF Halton wore the sportwear for the first time and all agreed that the kit was excellent quality, comfortable and it felt good being able to wear highly distinctive sportswear.
The sportswear will be issued as a free first issue to all regular and Reservist Phase 1 trainees and thereafter it will be available via private purchase. Details of how to purchase this will follow soon.
