Station Commander Coin
Congratulations to Mr Robinson, the latest recipient of a prestigious Station Commander Coin. Group Captain Garwood had the pleasure of presenting the coin, recognising Mr Robinson’s continued commitment and recent achievements in his role at RAF Halton Workshops.

Suicide Prevention Fundraiser
On 2 Feb 2023, Flight Sergeant Andrew Smith set out on a 33-hour weightlifting challenge to raise awareness for suicide prevention. Throughout the challenge he lifted 4129kg on the even hours and 1454kg on the odd hours. Andrew explains these weights were chosen for a very specific reason:
“In 2021, 4129 males and 1454 females committed suicide in England and Wales, my best friend Stu was one of them. He was 33 years old when he committed suicide and 2nd Feb this year would have been his 35th birthday.”

Andrew raised an immense total of £1560 for local suicide prevention charity Hector’s House. He extended a special thank you to everyone who came to support him during the challenge and to Hector’s House for their ongoing work and support throughout his journey and others.
