RAF Halton commemorates the 80th anniversary of the Battle of Britain

To commorate the 80 years of the Battle of Britain, a select number of guests were invited to HHOM to witness a Sunset Ceremony with Flypast by a RAF Coningsby Spitfire. RAF Halton’s Station Commander, Group Captain Dan Startup, led the commemoration of the 80th Anniversary of the end of the Battle of Britain yesterday evening with a Sunset Ceremony at Halton House Officers’ Mess. The flypast was by a Spitfire from the Battle Of Britain Memorial Flight.

Group Captain Startup said: “It was an honour and a privilege to be able to recognise, mourn and celebrate the Battle of Britain pilots and all those who supported those pilots, last night. I am heartened that the admiration and inspiration of The Few lives on amongst all at RAF Halton and in the Royal Air Force.”
