RAF Halton has a new Station Commander
GETTING TO KNOW THE NEW STATION COMMANDER
How are you settling in as Station Commander?
The welcome that I have had from the whole Team has allowed me to settle in straight away. I have a great bunch of execs who I trust completely to run their part of the business. It’s a real privilege to be at Halton and I am going to make the most of every minute.
Are your family here?
I put my house on the market last week and will be moving onto the base as soon as I can with my family. If you want me here sooner, please feel free to come round for a viewing with your cheque book handy. My sons have already been around and cannot wait to move in, although my eldest is busy with phase 1 training at Lympstone.
What gets you out of bed in the morning?
I have a nearly-3 year-old son. Generally it’s him jumping on my head followed by a very strong coffee.
What are you reading and favourite author?
I read maths and physics at university and try to pretend to myself that I still understand any of it by reading popular science books. However, referring to my previous answer, my favourite author is currently Julia Donaldson and ‘our’ favourite book flips between Zog and the Flying Doctors and Superworm.
Do you cook?
I am an excellent cook who tries to get every ingredient in the kitchen into every dish I make. My wife may not agree.
Signature dish?
I make a mean leek, potato, chicken, ham, Stilton, chilli and broccoli soup. And brownies.
Where do you come from?
Born and raised in Tunbridge Wells, Kent.
Last holiday?
I enjoyed the COVID delights of my back garden.
