Station Commander Coins
Congratulations to the recipients of Station Commander Coins in 2023:

  • Air Recruit Hoekstra in recognition for hard work and support in 2022
  • Sergeant Glenister, Corporal (Cpl) McMullen, Cpl Hands-Jordan and Air Specialist 1 Bareham for attending to a member of the public who had taken a fall in Princes Risborough and staying with him until the emergency services arrived
  • Sergeant Charity for involvement with the Station Cinema Club

New Year’s Honours
Congratulations to Corporal (Cpl) Green who received an Air Officer Commanding 22 Group Commendation in the New Year’s Honours 2023 list in recognition of his exemplary performance and initiative as second in command of the RAF Halton Boxing Club.

Cpl Green expertly trained Station personnel, ensured competition success and significantly contributed to the delivery of the UK Armed Forces (UKAF) Boxing Interservice Championships which was held at RAF Halton in March 2022. His persistence, proactivity, and professionalism supporting the Championship exponentially increased the positive profile of both the Station and the RAF Boxing Association.

Farewell to Warrant Officer (WO) Hammond
RAF Halton’s Station Catering Liaison Officer retires from the Royal Air Force after serving over 35 years and 4 months.

Following an interview with the Station Commander, Group Captain Garwood, WO Hammond was presented with a white trilby hat, as a personalised alternative to the traditional bowler hat following her Service as a Royal Air Force Logistics Caterer, which signified the beginning of her civilian life.

Honours and Awards
In a ceremony held at Halton House Officers’ Mess, RAF Halton’s Station Commander (Stn Cdr), Group Captain Garwood presented Honours and Awards to the following station personnel:
Flight Lieutenant (Flt Lt) Ferguson, Sergeant (Sgt) Wallace, and Sgt Gammon who received Long Service and Good Conduct Medals, Sgt Burton who received an Operational Service Medal (Iraq and Syria), Flt Lt Down, Miss LaBorde, and Miss Stoker who received a Stn Cdr’s Team Commendation, Flying Officer Young who received a Stn Cdr’s Individual Commendation, Mr Devlin who received a RAF Safety Centre Commendation, and Mr Brown who received a Safety Centre Well Done Award.
