Royal Air Force Association Birthday Lunch
The Royal Air Force Association, RAFA, recently held a lunch in the Club, based at Halton’s Airfield. The idea of the lunches was thought up by RAFA Club Chairman, Derf Mockford, along with committee member Kev O’Neil, who decided to hold them throughout the cold months to encourage local veterans to come out of their homes and socialise while enjoying a hot meal and chatting to personnel from RAF Halton.
This week’s lunch had a special guest. Mr John Pearce, who was the 200.000th Member of RAFA and Station Commander, Group Captain Katherine Wilson cut a cake to celebrate the 88th Anniversary of the Club. Pat Dodds, RAFA member, was also presented with flowers for her birthday which fell on the same day.
