Recruit Training Squadron eat Cake!
Staff from Recruit Training Squadron (RTS) at RAF Halton have baked cakes in a charity “Bake Off”. They baked cakes, biscuits and even mince pies for the competition which was held to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.
It was a close competition with over 18entries, however, the two judges, Officer Commanding RTS, Sqn Ldr Louise Henton, and the Deputy Squadron Commander, Flt Lt Scott Ripley-Jones, decided that the ‘best bake’ was a ‘Rudolf chocolate cake’ entered by Sgt Simon Brister, a close second was a Victoria Sponge entered by Sgt Sue Clark, and in third place, a ‘gin and tonic sponge cake’ entered by Flt Lt Scott Galbraith.
Flt Lt Hannah Owens who organised the event said: “It was fantastic to see the skill of the people who took part, so many people have been affected by cancer in some way, and it is great that RTS showed their support as over £100 was raised”.
