Scannappeal Open Gardens Programme – 2014

Join local charity Scannappeal, which is currently fundraising for state of the art diagnostic equipment for the Endoscopy Department at Stoke Mandeville Hospital, at one of the 14 gardens across the county opening for the charity this year. There is a wide variety ofgarden styles for visitors to enjoy, from large gardens to village garden groups and smaller neighbourhood gardens. The programme also includes some evening openings and for the first time, allotments. Garden 1 : Lilies, Weedon, nr Aylesbury

Date: Saturday 1st March, 11am to 3pm

These magnificent gardens have been developed over the past thirteen years by the current owners and feature several acres of formal lawns, gardens with mature specimen trees and woodlands with defined pathways which meander through the naturalized drifts of Snowdrops. There are also collections of Snowdrops and Hellebores elsewhere in the garden along with further examples of spring flowering. Other features include a walled garden and flower meadow. Guided tours by Head Gardener Gert-Jan are available (pre-booking required at additional charge) to help visitors make the most of their visit. Snowdrops and Hellebores displayed in the garden will be on sale during the day. Entertainment will be provided by The Consort Singers, an A Cappella group offering a range of musical styles.
