Schools Encouraged to Get Sunny for Money
Local schools and businesses are being encouraged to get in the summer spirit, with ‘Sunny for Money Day’ on Friday 5th June, to help raise funds for the Florence Nightingale Hospice Charity (FNHC) in Sunny Sunflower month.
Ashmead Combined, St Mary’s Haddenham and Aylesbury Vale Academy are just some of the schools taking part by donning sunny hats, shorts or sunglasses – with £1 from each child’s mufti dress being donated to the Hospice on the day.
Wendover’s No2 Pound Street will also be hosting a coffee morning fundraiser on Monday 1st June, with all funds raised going towards the local Hospice.
Commenting about the fundraiser, Emma Carroll, FNHC Community Fundraising Manager said: “This is a fun way for schools and businesses to get involved in supporting hospice care on our doorstep. In the last five years, over £50,000 has been raised from school fundraisers, so we hope we can call on this fantastic local support once again.”
As a special treat, the Charity’s new Florrie’s Children’s Team mascot ‘Florrie Bear’ will be making a visit to participating schools on the day.
