Sean lays foundations for awards success
An Aston Clinton housebuilder has been recognised for his dedication to the job in a UK-wide awards competition.
Site manager Sean Pitkin, who is responsible for overseeing construction of the new homes at Bellway’s Estone Grange development off Chapel Drive in the village, has won a National House-Building Council (NHBC) Pride in the Job Quality Award.
The awards scheme is the only UK-wide competition dedicated to recognising site managers who achieve the highest standards in house-building.
Sean said: “Building someone’s home is a big responsibility and we are completely focussed on making sure we get things right for our purchasers at Estone Grange.
“It’s my job to ensure that we deliver the highest quality new homes for our customers, but winning this award is a real team effort, so I’d like to thank everyone on site for all their hard work and support.”
Sean is among 450 winners of Quality Awards this year, selected from around 16,000 site managers across the UK.
Judging for the awards is meticulous, beginning a year before the announcement of the first round of winners. As well as undergoing spot checks of the day-to-day running of their site, each site manager is assessed across 44 areas of site management, including their technical knowledge, consistency in the build process and the quality controls they have in place.
Following the announcement of the first-round winners in June, all successful site managers are invited to attend the Regional Award ceremonies held in the autumn and go on to compete for a Seal of Excellence and Regional Award in their relevant category.
