Simply Walk
Every Tuesday morning, as the clock strikes 10.00, two groups leave the clock tower for walks along the footpaths of Wendover and its surrounds. They are led by trained volunteer leaders as part of the Bucks Simply Walk programme affiliated to the national Walking for Health Scheme. One group follows one of the many routes using footpaths that take between 45 to 60 minutes to complete, the other takes a slightly longer route lasting between 60 and 90 minutes. Neither are ‘route’ marches but are taken at a pace that allows for social chat that is so much part of the enjoyment of being out exercising together. Both groups meet up at the end and enjoy the hospitality of the Free Church for coffee. The walks are free and open to everybody. You would be most welcome to join us regularly or as other commitments allow. All that is asked of you is that, if you suffer from any long term illness, you consult your GP and check that you are fit enough to benefit from the exercise. By the nature of our surrounding countryside some walks do involve hills, mud and possibly stiles.
We are a friendly bunch and you will be made most welcome. If you will be joining us for the first time, please arrive at least 10 minutes early so that you have time to register.
For more information about this and other walks in the area please see the Simply Walks website (http://www.buckscc.gov.uk/environment/rights-of-way/exploring-the-countryside/simply-walk/)
