Sing, Play, Enjoy!
Chiltern Music Therapy (Chiltern) are delighted to announce the launch of a new music group in the local community, Let’s Sing.
This exciting new project, launching on 21st September at the Queens Park Arts Centre in Aylesbury, offers those with learning disabilities, Autism, or additional needs the opportunity to have a go at singing and playing percussion instruments as part of a choir in a supportive, fully inclusive environment. Let’s Sing, which will run fortnightly from 7-8pm on Thursdays, is a fantastic way for members to expand social networks and make new friends, whilst connecting with others through music.
Rebecca Atkinson, Director of Services, says, “We are delighted to be bringing our successful community music group, which has been running in High Wycombe since 2016, to the Aylesbury community. Let’s Sing aims to encourage socialisation, integration and community networking by reaching out to people living in our community who may experience isolation. We hope that the joint collaboration with Prevention Matters will allow these valuable services to benefit the community on a long-term basis.”
David Quinton, Centre Manager at Arts4every1, where the High Wycombe group meet, says of Let’s Sing, “The Community Choir is a fantastic facility in that it opens the door to members of our community and offers them the opportunity to learn, meet and sing with like-minded people. A really wonderful idea.”
All ages and abilities are welcome, and no singing or musical experience is necessary! Find out more about the group by visiting: http://www.chilternmusictherapy.co.uk/events/community.
