Aylesbury Waterside Theatre welcomes its first ever Silver Wheels Roller Disco (Fri 5 Sep), with separate sessions to suit both families and adults. Complete with DJ sets and laser light show, see the main auditorium transformed into a Roller Disco taking you on a journey from the 80s into the 21st century.
Don’t miss multi award-winning comedy, Stones In His Pockets directed by Game Of Thrones star Ian McElhinney and starring Conor Delaney (Game of Thrones, Jack Taylor, Tudors) and Stephen Jones (Ripper Street), who between them play 15 characters. Universally loved, it tells the hilarious, moving tale of a quiet Irish community turned upside down by the arrival of a massive Hollywood movie shoot. Dawn French: 30 Million Minutes (Wed 24 Sep) sees the Queen of British comedy perform her first solo tour, and Comedy Club (Fri 5 Sep) continues to satiate Aylesbury’s appetite for up and coming artists from the comedy circuit.
Simon Callow performs a fresh, moving account of biblical stories with a powerful portrayal of Jesus’ life asking people of all faiths and none: what sort of a man was able to inspire the history of the world in The Man Jesus ( Wed 17 Sep).
Music lovers rejoice and celebrate some of the greatest artists to have graced the industry. Jackson Live In Concert starring Ben Bowmen (Fri 26 Sep) offers the most vocally and visually accurate tribute to the King of Pop, and The Definitive Rat Pack (Fri 19 Sep) faithfully recreate the epitome of ‘cool’ from the 1960s featuring all the timeless classics. Join The Drifters for their Optimum Tour featuring their back catalogue hits including Under the Boardwalk and Up On The Roof alongside brand new recordings.
The theatre’s Second Space offers a programme of live screenings, interactive kids’ shows and smaller-scale productions. September sees the return of popular children’s theatre company Blunderbus and their new show Hugless Douglas (Sun 28 Sep), and straight from the Edinburgh Fringe Piaf: Love Conquers All (Sat 27 Sep), is set to take you on an emotional rollercoaster of Edith Piaf’s life and music, full of passion and courage, loss and addictions.
