Spooky goings-on at the TCC
The annual Halloween party, held in the Trinity Community Centre (TCC), had plenty of ghostly goings on this week with the building decorated as a very dark place. The mayhem was arranged by the Station Community Support Staff and HIVE with both children and adults dressed up in eerie costumes to play games and enjoy the party spirit. The resident cuddly spider, Hermy, also made an appearance.
Community Support assistant, Jan Holdsworth, said: For many of the families this is the favourite party of the year and so well received with lots of positive feedback. The whole building looked fantastic and this year we hired Dan Blasor to entertain the children for three hours with disco, karaoke and Halloween games including Wrap The Mummy’ which was great fun to watch as children were wrapped head to toe in toilet roll. Dan chose the winners of the fancy dress competition in three age ranges and the effort the parents had gone to with the outfits was outstanding.
“The hours of hard work setting up for this party proved worthwhile to see the children’s faces. They all received a party cone of sweets before they left to start them off on their trick or treating adventure. We had a buffet – thanks to Julie Smith for offering to do the shopping. Also as a team we would just like to thank Ashton Leonard, Emma Daly and Dave Holdsworth for giving up their free time to put up the decorations, it was very much appreciated and without all the help we receive voluntarily these events wouldn’t happen.”
