Spooky goings-on and ghostly games at RAF Halton Community Centre
The Trinity Community Centre (TCC) at RAF Halton hosted their annual halloween party last week with lots of spooky happenings, ghostly goings on and lots of fun and games for 120 people.
This year they went all out to make it the biggest and most ornate event they have run. The whole building was blacked out with all sorts of decorations adorning each room. The welfare suite was turned into a super scary Witches Cave with youngsters allowed to enter only under parental guidance. This year the committee decided to hold a more traditional party and played games like Apple Bobbing and Dress the Mummy as a Mummy, Spooky Bowling, Grave Stone Pinata, and of course the traditional Fancy Dress and Pumpkin Carving Competitions which the Station Commander, Wing Commander Niki Stacey, very kindly judged. Even the buffet ran with the Halloween theme with hot dogs shaped as fingers and ketchup as blood!!!
Station Community Support Office Assistant, Jan Holdsworth, said: “The hours of personal time that was put into this event was extensive and there are many people to thank for their time and effort. Without Ashton Leigh Leonard and Emma Daly the party games and decorations wouldn’t have happened, Cpl Kim Green, SAC Jeanette Bosworth and SAC Sumon Garewal co-ordinated the food, Cpl Alex Leonard, Cpl Greg Daly, WO Gareth Smith, FS David Holdsworth and my son Joshua, all gave up their Sunday afternoon to come and help. Without these people working hard both beforehand and on the day, events like this would not take place. It was an extremely long day but to see the children’s faces when they walked in was absolutely worth it, and their little faces when they received their bag of sweets and chocolate apple when they left was brilliant. Obviously not forgetting the Community Support Team themselves, FS Sue Hartley, Mrs Julie Loader Smith, and myself.”
