Start your fostering journey with us this September
This September our fostering team will be going out and about in Aylesbury, offering a number of opportunities to find out more about what fostering involves in a bid to encourage more people to consider fostering to help look after the hundreds of children and young people currently in care in Buckinghamshire.
From coffee shops to fun days and information events, we will be hitting the road to let people know what a rewarding job fostering can be:
- On Monday 4 September we’ll be setting up at BB’s Coffee & Muffins in Friar’s Square shopping centre for an informal drop in between 2pm and 4pm
- On Saturday 9 September we’ll be joining in the fun at the Eid Fayre Family Fun Day at Aylesbury Mosque, Havelock Street, HP20 2NX from 11am to 4pm
- On Wednesday 27 September we’re hosting a Fostering Information Session at Aylesbury Opportunities Centre, Thame Road South, HP21 8TS from 7pm to 8.30pm
Warren Whyte, Cabinet Member for Children’s Services said: “There are multiple opportunities to find out more information about fostering. These events are a great way to get a bit more background by talking to our fostering team and some of our current foster carers. You can ask questions and get a real flavour for what it’s all about.
“We still have a desperate need for new foster carers to look after our children and young people in need in Buckinghamshire so they can stay close to their friends and local community rather than have to live far away from everything they know. All types of people can foster so don’t rule yourselves out without taking a closer look.”
