Students in Land base Studies are planting 400 trees on the Wendover school grounds
As part of the Woodland Trust, CWA are participating in “The Big Climate Fightback” to help get 50 million more trees in the ground across the UK.
The Big Climate Fightback aims to rally the nation to get behind tree planting by finding those underused areas in our communities that could accommodate more trees and make a difference in the fight against climate change and provide havens for wildlife.
With the environmental impact of HS2 in the local area, we thought it would be a great idea to get involved and plant more trees on the Wendover grounds.
We have been given 400 trees by The Woodland Trust that the students are planting, led by Mr. Spence, around the Bushcraft area and surrounding the new Pump Track. Whilst doing this the students are discussing how the world climate is changing and how trees are a natural way to help combat the climate crisis as they lock up carbon, reduce pollution, reduce flooding, and support people, wildlife and livestock.
