Summer One-Night Shows
Much music is in store at Aylesbury Waterside Theatre this summer with plenty to keep feet a-tapping while the sun is shining. From Jazz to Pop, Rock to Country, almost every genre is covered with a mix of known names and highly-acclaimed tribute artists.
Brian Poole and the Tremeloes Tue 20 Jun are celebrating 54 years since their first record. Band members Brian Poole, Len ‘Chip’ Hawkes and Dave Munden will be in good company with recording stars Vanity Fare, in this great evening of nostalgia. The reminiscing continues with That’ll Be The Day Sat 24 Jun, returning due to popular demand as one of the UK’s No.1 Rock ‘n’ Roll variety shows. Featuring a fresh new line-up of sensational hits spanning from the 50s right through to the 70s, and with its trademark mix of comedy, this is a night out not to be missed!
A British Jazz legend descends on Bucks Wed 28 June with The Big Chris Barber Band. Chris Barber OBE has been active in the music scene for 68 years promoting, recording and releasing music with his mesmerising big band. A night out with Joe McElderry and special guests Keith Jack, Lloyd Daniels and Ben James-Ellis is in store Wed 19 Jul with Joe McElderry: Saturday Night at the Movies Live. Iconic songs including Daydream Believer and Love is All Around will be played alongside tracks for Joe’s new album including new single, Gloria.
Direct from its success in London’s West End, The Simon and Garfunkel Story (Fri 15 Jul) are taking to the stage with huge projection photos, original film footage and a live band performing all the hits including Mrs Robinson, Cecelia and many more, with Totally Tina Sat 8 Jul paying homage to Tina Turner with an eclectic mix of songs like River Deep, Mountain High alongside solo smash hits Simply The Best and What’s Love Got To Do With It.
There are Second Space screenings a-plenty throughout the Summer too, with National Theatre presenting Hamlet (live) Thu 6 Jul, Angels in America Part 1: Millennium Approaches (live) Thu 20 Jul, Angels in America Part 2: Perestroika (live) Thu 27 Jul and Glyndebourne 2017 Season: La Clemenza Di Tito (live, 12A) Thu 3 Aug.
