Barratt and David Wilson Homes has recently donated £1,000 to Thames Valley Air Ambulance in recognition and support of the incredible lifeline they provide in the area.

The Air Ambulance service operates across Oxfordshire, Berkshire and Buckinghamshire and can get to anywhere in this huge area in just 15 minutes. This makes them a crucial first response emergency service.

Samantha Collier, a spokesperson for the service, said: “Our paramedics, doctors and pilots are highly trained and ready for any eventuality, giving you the best chance when the worst happens.

“Every day, somebody in our community could be in urgent need of our service. Within minutes, we bring the expertise, equipment and treatment of the hospital to them.”

Barratt and David Wilson Homes regularly donates a sum of £1,000 to charities in the local area as part of their Community Fund scheme. This month, the Barratt and David Wilson North Thames team decided to support the Air Ambulance’s remarkable work.

Simon Francis, Managing Director of Barratt and David Wilson North Thames said: “We recognise that the work the Air Ambulance does is quite literally a matter of life and death. Our Community Fund scheme allows us to help those in need and it is an honour to contribute towards such a prominent life-changing charity. They protect our residents and it’s great to think we can help protect them too.”

Thames Valley Air Ambulance serves a community of over two million people, 365 days a year. The service was called out 2,670 times last year to people who were in critical conditions.

Despite these drastic numbers and the level of responsibility this service holds, the entire operation is run from charitable donations.

Speaking about the donation will be spent, Samantha Collier added: “This donation will go towards delivering emergency medical care to patients at the scene of an incident. Thanks to the support of the community and donors like Barratt and David Wilson Homes, we are here to reach more people when they need us in a medical emergency by air and critical care response cars.”
