Take on a Challenge for 2020

Florence Nightingale Hospice Charity is looking for people to take on new challenges in 2020 to help raise money for local hospice care.

“Last year our supporters took on some amazing personal challenges, from cycling 700 miles in 7 days to trekking the Great Wall of China, as well as running 10ks, half marathons, full marathons, cycling, skydiving, wing-walking  and fire walking, ” says Challenge Fundraiser, Michelle  Merrison.  “They all put in amazing effort, not only into completing their physical challenges but also raising huge amounts for the Charity through sponsorship.  Last year altogether, our Challenge supporters raised over £70,000!”

Rowan Irwin did a 13,000 foot freefall skydive in June 2019, raising over £1,000 for the Charity.

“This was my first attempt at doing something outside my comfort zone to support such a worthwhile charity – no choice really when you understand what an important, caring and supportive role they provide to families, friends and patients,” says Rowan, who lost over three stone in weight to meet the skydive weight restriction.

This year, alongside places at the MK Marathon, skydiving and fire walking, the Charity has added a new Challenge event; an 80-mile, 4 day walk along the Ridgeway in June.  The Charity is holding an information evening about the Ridgeway Walk on Wednesday, 29 January 2020 from 6.30pm at their offices at Walton Lodge, Walton Street, Aylesbury.
