The Home Office proudly supports KitAid and Tring Tornadoes’ latest sports kit donation campaign
As part of their sponsorship deal with Tring Tornadoes Junior Sports Club, The Home Office is proud to be the collection hub for their latest KitAid campaign.
KitAid is a charity set up by, Derrick Williams MBE, who visited Tanzania on a WaterAid supporters’ trip in 1998. Derrick, being a mad footie fan, was amazed at the reception he received from children and adults in remote villages just because he wearing his favourite football shirts. After two weeks in Tanzania, a flame was lit in Derrick’s heart and he was on a mission to provide kit and equipment to the bare-footed children playing with footballs made of tied string and plastic bags. Twenty one years on, KitAid has lots of volunteers and to date they have sent out 600,000+ kits to children and adults in 55 different countries across the world.
The Home Office, a coworkspace located on Station Road in Tring is aimed at freelancers, consultants, remote workers and small businesses, and offers first class facilities to local professionals. As part of their regular corporate social responsibility work, record-breaking sponsorship deals were signed with Tring Tornadoes and Tring Athletic Football Club – the biggest and longest deals ever achieved for both organisations – last year.
Naturally following in her father’s footsteps, Daisy Evans, Director of The Home Office, continues the philanthropic work that David Evans was awarded his MBE for back in 2008. He was the first individual to be awarded the honour for the single citation of ’Services to Corporate Social Responsibility’. His good work in Tring and surrounding areas over 35 years has had a huge impact on schools, charities and sports organisations.
Those with sports kit to donate (shirts, shorts and socks) are encouraged to visit The Home Office (Station Road, Tring) during office hours and drop off in the dedicated collection bins.

With more than 600 boys and girls playing football, futsal and netball at Tornadoes across the town of Tring and the surrounding villages, there’s a huge amount of old out-grown sports kit out there! With kids going back to school and new seasons kicking off, it’s a great time to dig out your old kit and donate it to an amazing cause’.
