The Hospice Lottery Partnership launches Summer Superdraw to help raise funds for local hospice and health-related charities
Local not-for-profit organisation The Hospice Lottery Partnership has launched its annual Summer Superdraw to help support the work of its eight partner charities:
- East & North Hertfordshire Hospitals’ Charity supporting the Lister in Stevenage, New QEII in Welwyn Garden City, Hertford County Hospital in Hertford and Mount Vernon Cancer Centre in Northwood
- Florence Nightingale Hospice Charity based in Aylesbury
- Harlington Hospice based in Harlington
- Michael Sobell Hospice based in Northwood
- Raise: West Hertfordshire Hospitals Charity supporting Hemel Hempstead, St Albans City and Watford General Hospitals
- Rennie Grove Hospice Care covering Herts and Bucks
- South Bucks Hospice based in High Wycombe
- The Hospice of St Francis based in Berkhamsted
The draw will take place in July, and every ticket bought gives supporters the chance to win a top prize of £2,000, as well as helping to bring much needed care and support to patients and families in the local community. For example, £10 could help an NHS hospital charity to buy a toy or game for a child that needs to stay in hospital, £20 could help a hospice to provide bereavement support for a family coping with the recent loss of a loved one, and £50 could help to pay for a Hospice at Home nurse to visit a patient at their home at any time of the day or night.
There are some great cash prizes to be won including a first prize of £2,000, a second prize of £100, third prize of £50 and five one-year subscriptions for The Hospice Lottery. Plus, anyone who buys their tickets before 16 May 2022 will also be entered into a bonus Fast Reply Draw for the opportunity to win one of five £20 M&S Gift Cards.
Last year’s Summer Superdraw first prize winner, Mrs Moody from High Wycombe, had been a regular supporter of The Hospice Lottery for 18 years, and was delighted to hear the news that she had won, adding that she was familiar with the wonderful care that hospices provide, having had a few friends who have recently received their support: “No one knows what’s round the corner, anyone can find themselves in the need of hospice care, and I wanted to do my bit to help, playing in The Hospice Lottery seemed a great way to do it.”
Tickets cost £1 each and are available to buy online at hospicelottery.org.uk/superdraw. Tickets are on sale until 12 July 2022 and the main draw takes place on 13 July 2022.
