Theresa May pops in!
It was ‘selfie’ time aplenty as new Prime Minister Theresa May and husband Philip surprised everybody by coming into a packed Buckmoorend Farm Shop recently. The shop, which specialises in delicious home reared meats straight from the farm, has now received two Prime Ministerial visits in just four months since opening. At this rate owner and third generation farmer Daniel Hares thinks he will have to dust down the red carpet in the shed!
The Mays bought some Oxfordshire cheese, Chiltern Cold Pressed rapeseed oil and savoury biscuits made by Stoke Mandeville’s very own Just Biscuits: They both champion small local producers and local food products.
“She was really nice – and her husband too – and seemed delighted that we were on the doorstep of Chequers. We hope to continue supplying meat to the house as we did with the Camerons” says Daniel. David Cameron had popped in to lend his support for the new shop and see how matters were going on the farm again just after the shop opened in April.
The shop is open Wednesday to Friday 3.30pm to 6.30pm and 10am to 4pm on Saturdays and Sundays.
