Thumbsie® Nominated for Third National Award in a Year
Jo Bates, Founder and Owner of Thumbsie® can add another National Award nomination to her growing list. This time she has been selected as a Finalist in The Best Business Women Awards for the category, Best Business Woman in Retail or a Consumer Business; her third National Award nomination in 12 months.
Mum of three, Jo founded Thumbsie® 5 years ago when she needed a thumb sucking solution for her youngest daughter. Jo’s embryonic business idea now employs 7 local mums. This summer she launched the innovative Thumb Sucking Clinic which is a fun session held at a dentist’s surgery where families have the opportunity to talk, with Jo and each other, about their struggle to ‘give up’. The Clinic includes a friendly talk from a dentist who can offer advice and information about the dental issues involved in long term digit sucking.
Jo said, ‘I am thrilled to have been nominated for another National Award, especially following the launch of the Thumb Sucking Clinic which is going to help so many more families to give up sucking easily and permanently. Thumbsie® is going from strength to strength right now, and that can only mean that we are helping more families to find a gentle and effective way to give up sucking.’
Debbie Gilbert, organiser of The Best Business Women Awards said ‘Now in our 4th year we have seen the number of entries triple since we launched. The standard of our finalists is exceptionally high, to be a finalist is a major achievement. We are delighted to receive entries from female entrepreneurs from throughout the UK, from women who are real trailblazers in their industry. This is a tough competition judged by business experts; finalists have been selected for their business acumen, determination, creativity and tenacity.’
The gala final of The Best Business Women Awards will be held on 11th October 2018 at Tewin Bury Farm, Welwyn, Hertfordshire, the winners will be announced at the final.
