Thumbsie® wins a second National Award
Thumbsie® has won its second national award in a month, taking the Dentist Industry Awards’,
Innovation of the Year Category prize last week. The awards are the flagship celebration of the UK Dental Industry.
Competition was very strong in the innovation category with 13 other companies reaching the finals, which offer technology-based innovation to the Dental profession such as 3D scanners, teeth apps, industry-leading digital imaging and software, marketing & SEO for the Dental Industry and dental management software. In his introduction to the awards Dr David Houston, Chairman of the judging committee, said that the awards night recognises the very best companies, concepts and individuals in British dentistry.
Thumbsie® works closely with the Industry offering a gentle solution to a problem which can cause damage to teeth and palate. It has been recognised by the industry for its solution to prevent dental problems which are caused by sucking; the solution includes a fabric thumb guard, reward chart, story book, support via the website and Thumb Sucking Clinics.
This comes swiftly after Jo Bates won the Best Consumer or Retail Business at the Best Business
Women Awards 2019, a prestigious national award ceremony held in London last month. This
competition seeks to find the very best female business talent from across the UK often those who are also juggling the needs of their families at the same time.
Jo is thrilled at winning two awards, ‘I am over the moon that Thumbsie® has won these awards.
The feedback that I get from people who use it is so positive – it really does offer children a gentle
and effective way to stop sucking. The Thumbsie® has helped hundreds of children to stop sucking for over 6 years now, and I hope that this recognition will mean that even more families find out how to take the stress out of stopping. I am just delighted that I made my dream to work for myself come true and that that all the hard work has paid off.’
Thumbsie® is looking forward to continuing to innovate and improve its business so that it can help even more children to stop sucking and prevent the damage that prolonged and vigorous sucking can cause for children’s teeth. Continuing to work with and for the Dental Industry is a big part of its plans.
