Tring Road Traffic Lights
You may recall last year a young mother and her son were hit by a car failing to stop at the traffic lights on Tring Road. The same thing nearly happened again in June, but to my nearly 2 year old daughter.
I was crossing the road at the traffic lights with my daughter on her trike. Just as we were about to cross two cars came from the clock tower direction, travelling at about 60-70 mph, I didn’t even get a chance to see the model or colour of the cars. Since the accident last year, many people including myself, have witnessed cars failing to stop at the traffic lights on many occasions. This crossing is used by many school children and is so dangerous. I feel sick at how close I came to losing my youngest daughter and feel something needs to be done.
After speaking to many departments and organisations including the Police and Bucks Transport Service, I have been told that it is not possible to have traffic light cameras installed until there have been 5 collisions at the site in 5 years!
The Parish Council and new County Councillor have been helpful and carried out a speed watch sessions in the area on Friday 21 June.
The issue will be discussed at the next Parish Council meeting on Monday 1 July.
