Thames Valley Police to open an office in Wendover Community Library
We are extremely pleased to announce that Thames Valley Police will be opening a Community Police Office in Wendover Community Library.
Most people will be aware that the current Police Station in Wendover is closing soon, especially now that a ‘For Sale’ notice has been placed in front of the old station, but a Community Police presence will be maintained in Wendover from the Community Library.
The Community Police office will be open three days a week, at times when the Community Library is open. It will be staffed, and members of the community will be able to make appointments to talk with police staff. When staff are free appointments will not be necessary. Access to the Community Police Office will be through the library, and the times of opening will be clearly shown on a notice near the main door of the library.
Thames Valley Police intend the new Community Police Office to enhance contact between the police service and members of the community, and it will be the intention of Community Library staff to do all they can to support this.
The initial agreement between the Community Library and Thames Valley Police is for six months, during which time the service will be assessed, and a decision will be made about the longer term.
The new Community Police Office opens on July 1st.
