Vale of Aylesbury Sponsored Ride – Saddle Up!
The Vale of Aylesbury Sponsored Ride (VASR) has taken place on RAF Halton’s land and surrounding areas again this week. Sponsored by RAF Halton, the seven mile charity event with over 500 riders, and 50 country fences, normally attracts a large audience from the equine world. After the event, proceeds go to a number of local and RAF charities.
Group Captain Adrian Burns turned out with VASR organiser John Yarroll and Chairman of the Kimblewick Hunt, Alan Jackson, to start the race by the very popular but dilapidated jump, the Jet Provost aircraft.
Group Captain Burns said: “It is important that we stop and pay tribute to those who deserve it in front of their family and friends. Their professionalism and hard work is a credit to RAF Halton and one of the more enjoyable tasks I carry out is to meet them all personally to thank them.”
