Volunteers sought to uphold high standards
Two volunteers are being sought to help Buckinghamshire County Council promote and maintain high standards of conduct among elected Councillors.
They will work with County Council Monitoring Officer Sarah Ashmead, should a complaint be made about the conduct of a Councillor. They will giveadvice on conduct mattersand their help will be available to any Councillor who may be the subject of a complaint.
The Chairman of the County Council’s Regulatory and Audit Committee, David Martin, said: “Elected Councillors must adhere always to the highest ethical standards and comply with the County Council code of conduct in all aspects of their duties.
“It’s important that those who elect them have a say in ensuring the highest standards are met. That’s why we are looking for volunteers from the public who have a broad range of experience, good communication skills, independence of mind, and a commitment to maintaining high standards in public life.”

Candidates should have an interest in or knowledge of local government and ethical governance. Experience in public, private, voluntary or charitable sectors is desirable . Training will be given and an expenses are payable.
