Walk the MS Mile is Back!
Walk the MS Mile is the Chilterns MS Centre’s largest annual awareness and fundraising event. Since its inception in September 2015, it has raised £91,500 for the independent, Wendover-based charity and doubled the number of referrals received from people affected by multiple sclerosis (MS).
Abi Parry who lives and works in Aylesbury will be taking part in the Walk the MS Mile in Aylesbury on Saturday 23rd September at 10am. Abi says “In 2016 I was diagnosed with MS, I had little information about MS at the time but I discovered the Chilterns MS Centre and it changed everything. Every step of the way I received help and advice from the most amazing team of physios and support team, they make each visit for treatment fun and informative, just talking to other people who are going through the same experience is a great help”.
Many people with MS are unable to take part in physical sponsored challenges. Walking a mile – or using a walking frame or a motorised wheelchair – is something many people can and are pleased to do. Walk the MS Mile is filling a gap in the sponsored event market. Join us on 23rd September and be part of the event success! Register online at www.walktheMSmile.org
All money raised will go to providing vital practical, social and emotional support to enable 500 people like Abi in the local community, to gain greater control over their MS so they can lead happy and healthy lives.
