Walk the MS Mile

Being the mile closest to the Centre so far, perhaps it’s no surprise that Walk the MS Mile: Wendover this morning was our best-attended walk. Twenty six people joined Linda and Sarah for a very pleasant stroll in the sunshine through the village centre. Generous Wendover residents donated £162.41 in little under an hour.

Special thanks go to Tony Parks of Beacons Accountancy for sponsoring Walk the MS Mile: Wendover with a donation of £250 and for joining us with his wife. Thank you to the Rotary Club of Wendover who provided many volunteer marshals, to employees of Grass Roots Group who came out in force, to our Centre volunteers and staff who came on their days off, and to Wendover Express Tesco for donating drinks, fruit, crisps and chocolate bars for our walkers and marshals to enjoy after their mile.

It was lovely that Yvonne from Scruples could spare time to join the walk since the company is also celebrating its 30th anniversary this year.

We are a third of the way through Walk the MS Mile now. It’s really been such a wonderful experience to engage with our community in such a direct way. Thank you all. Roll on the next 19 walks!
