Want to make a difference in your local community?
If you have a passion to get more involved in what is happening in your local area, then now could be the time to turn those thoughts into actions. Buckinghamshire’s 16 local Community Boards are about to hold their next public meetings so it’s the perfect time to find out what your local board has been up to and to get involved.
From funding projects that support local communities, to improving neighbourhood facilities and championing local causes, Community Boards are at the heart of their local area. They were introduced in July 2020 and work on a local level, linking the council with community groups, organisations and local people in the area. They give local communities the opportunity to get directly involved in decisions and actions taken in the area where they live.
Each Community Board holds four meeting a year. The dates for upcoming meetings are:
- Amersham & Villages – 12 February
- Aylesbury – 17 February
- Beaconsfield & Chepping Wye – 1 February
- Beeches – 26 January
- Buckingham & Villages – 15 February
- Chesham & Villages – 24 February
- Denham, Gerrards Cross & The Chalfonts – 27 January
- Haddenham & Waddesdon – 9 February
- High Wycombe – 9 February
- Missendens – 16 February
- North West Chilterns – 10 February
- South West Chilterns – 16 February
- Wendover & Villages – 1 March
- Wexham & the Ivers – 25 January
- Wing & Ivinghoe – 16 February
- Winslow & Villages – 24 February
Steve Bowles, Cabinet Member for Communities said: “Our Community Boards are doing fantastic work bringing together local communities and making a real difference to the people who live there. They are partnership led and allow people to get involved in the issues that matter most to them. I would encourage all residents to find out more about their local board and what they are up to. You can do this by tuning in to listen to your next community board meeting, signing up to their newsletter, following social media updates or all of the above!”
