Wendover C of E Junior School Update – April 2018
Throughout this term we have continued to explore our school values – the 4 Rs (Respect, Resilience, Reflection and Responsibility). We have also thought a good deal about how we show our appreciation that everyone was created differently and we have reflected on how we can learn from and support each other.
It has been a very busy term in and out of the classroom. It has been the turn of Year 5 and Year 4 children to share what they have learned so far through their class assemblies. They have all been very informative and show just how varied the curriculum is and how much children enjoy learning. There have also been a number of exciting extra-curricular activities this term, including a Y4 basketball tournament, cross country championships, Y6 swimming gala, panathlon challenge, netball matches, indoor athletics and a dance festival. Thank you to all the staff and parents who have made this possible for our children.
Our work within the community continues to be strong. Led by the school council, children have raised over £4500 for cancer research and we have embarked on a new training programme to ensure that all children in school are Dementia Friends.
We are always keen to further strengthen our links with the local community and would welcome more volunteers in school. If you can give just a little time as a volunteer, then please contact the school office: admin@wendoverjunior.co.uk.
