Wendover Bowls Club Update, March 2016
We have now nearly completed the Indoor Short Mat Bowling Season with quite good success for our teams. We are against short mat teams that play all year round who do have an advantage, whereas Wendover only plays during the winter and then reverts to Outdoor Bowls. Outdoor Bowls starts in Mid April.
The finals of the Club Short Mat competitions are on the 5th March so good luck to all those who got through.
The pre-season dinner takes place on the 17th April. This is excellent with a 3 course meal with an aperitif supplied on arrival, finishing with cheese and biscuits and coffee or tea after the meal.
There was a Quiz Night on the 20th February which is one of the Club’s Social events.
A new event has been organised for the 27th March which is the “WENDOVER PHOTO QUEST” which involves Club Members seeking out the location of photographs that have been taken in and around the Village. A cream tea will follow in the Clubhouse plus presentation of a prize for the winners who found the most points of contact.
New fence has been erected at the end of the Green opposite the Club House and it has certainly has enhanced that area.
