Wendover Arm Trust Grand Draw Report
The Grand Draw was made Sunday 8th September as planned. The draw was made at 15:00 at St Mary the Virgin, Drayton Beauchamp, by the Mayor of Tring, during a Restoration Day event where the public were invited to visit the restoration work site to view progress and hear a short talk given by the Restoration Director, Mr Roger Leishman. There were several tours to the site during the afternoon.
Unfortunately, the WAT have been unable to contact the winner, Mrs Preston, but have written to her enclosing the voucher for the week’s holiday with a narrowboat from Wyvern Shipping Co Ltdat Leighton Buzzard. We have also been unable to send the prize to the second prize winner, as we do not have a full address, but have left her telephone messages. Besides gentlemen winning a crystal necklace with matching earrings; a ladies handbag and a Boots hair dryer, the best story was a six year old girl from Halton Village winning the Tiger Cub Fleece Throw, which is better than a teddy bear! The Wendover Arm Trust’s pennant cake was won by a local member, fortunately, as it would not have been easy if the winner had been in Manchester!
