Wendover Bowls Club – July 2022
Life has a habit of tripping you up. Last month I mentioned that there was no progress on the Parrot House lean-to, then overnight we found ourselves owners of a splendid gleaming new structure. It is far too grand to be called a lean-to but I am sure it will still be called the Parrot House.
Our open evenings in May were well attended and have resulted in several new members. Welcome to them and I hope they will flourish and enjoy the Club.

Like so many, we celebrated the Jubilee with a party. Members provided a veritable feast, but before they could indulge they had to play a match with a strict dress code of red white and blue. It was lovely to see and hear the clubhouse packed with everyone enjoying the occasion and the company. And what a weekend it was. Surely, no matter what your views about royalty are, you could not help feeling the joy of the event. It was just what we needed after the last two years of gloom. Now we can enjoy the season even more with our Parrot House fit for the most royal of parrots.
So now it is back to the routine of matches against rival clubs and internal games between members for our Club trophies.
Don’t forget that, even though our open evenings are over, we still welcome new members. Just get in contact with anyone from the club and they will head you in the right direction.
